A little about me

A designer’s eye. An engineer’s mindset.

I’m Arun Krishnan. I connect thoughtful design with the craft of building software.

From Kerala, India, to Albuquerque, New Mexico—my work brings together UX, visual design, front-end engineering, and a curiosity for what comes next.

The person behind the work

Where design meets development.

I enjoy working across both sides of a product: understanding what people need and figuring out how to build it.

My design background shapes how I think about hierarchy, interaction, typography, and the details that make an experience feel intuitive. My engineering work turns those decisions into responsive interfaces, reusable components, and maintainable applications.

I’ve worked on public-facing portals, enterprise applications, content-driven websites, and UI systems. Across these projects, my focus stays the same: make complex processes clearer, build accessibility into the experience, and keep design and code aligned.

What guides me

Good work starts with good questions.

  1. 01Understand

    People before pixels.

Start with the problem, the people using the product, and the constraints around it.

  2. 02Craft

    Details make a difference.

Clear labels, thoughtful spacing, and helpful feedback shape how an experience feels.

  3. 03Include

    Make room for everyone.

Build accessibility and responsiveness into the foundation, across devices and abilities.

  4. 04Explore

    Stay curious. Keep making.

Experiment with new tools, including AI, while keeping judgment and human review at the center.

Behind the hero image

A digital landscape. A connection to home.

A small story about the web, the backwaters, and bringing a little of Kerala into my corner of the internet.
A luminous spider web framing Kerala backwaters, coconut palms, a houseboat, and a Kathakali detail beneath a violet night sky.
Kerala, reimaginedNature, connection, and a little imagination.

“I wanted the first impression to reflect both my work and where I come from.”

Many threads. One experience.

The concept began with a three-dimensional spider web. Its connected strands became a way to express how user needs, content, visual design, accessibility, and code come together. Every thread contributes to the whole.

Rooted in Kerala.

The coconut palms and backwaters establish a sense of place. A traditional houseboat and warm architecture bring familiarity, while the Kathakali detail adds a cultural reference. These are personal connections to the place I call home.

A familiar landscape, seen differently.

Twilight colors, glowing threads, reflections, and mist turn the scene into a dreamlike interpretation of Kerala. The open center gives the words room to breathe, while the surrounding details invite a closer look.

From the first idea to the final scene

  1. 1. Imagine

A luminous web in a fantasy world.

  2. 2. Make it personal

    Introduce Kerala’s landscape and culture.

  3. 3. Refine

Iterate with AI on composition and clarity.

  4. 4. Bring it to the web

Keep the artwork separate from responsive text.
